Thankful, Excited, and Exhausted!

I would say thankful, excited, and exhausted can sum up our team tonight. It's around 7pm here and we are all showering and ready to get some SLEEP! Most of us are running on 1-2 hours of sleep! Thank you for your prayers! We begin the house we are building tomorrow! We know that the Lord has already gone before us and we ask that you continue to pray as we serve here!

We will try to get pictures tomorrow, for now......ZzZzZzzzz!

It Is Finished!

All of the familia (minus one, Erica, she was at school) in front of their new house they were so happy over the home! What a blessing these children were to us.

Juan Carlos is one of the children in the house and he came out wearing this shirt today. And Gregg just had to get a picture. Go Duke!!!!!!

Group shot, this was on the way to the village of Las Pitas (the village that the teamed served two years ago). Gregg thinks it is lava rock! The land is so beautiful! The people still remember all of the team members and wept when they saw us.

Sweet baby Carolinia. She is the baby in the household. She was so sweet and content!

They mixed the morter by hand. It was a lot of hard work!

The family with their new clothes and pots and pans during the house dedication. They were so grateful.

Some of the children, we had about 100 on the last day. Three days after VBS we would go to the el campo to play soccer. The kids loved it, they could run for hours in this extreme heat!!!!!!

Beautiful Daily ( That is how we say it anyway). She had the sweetest face. And would smile on a dime. She really was happy at this time...promise! They don't really know how to smile for the camera like we do here.

Beans! Oh, Nelda would be so proud. We had an abundance of beans that we were able to give out to two villages. Praise be to God for His provision!

Patti filling in the windows in the house. The kids liked to hold the morter for us. The girls learned a lot about the workings of building a house.

Ol' Mike Greene, Our mission leader. So cool, Patti and Kat made him cooler with this hairstyle one night. Mr. and Mrs. Greene have been such a blessing to us this week we are so thankful for their love and leadership.

Chicken and Rice

Here are some pics from the day! (Actually we are way more advanced on the house now!)

It was a very productive day...but boy was it was HOT!!!!!! The Chicken and Rice was so wonderful to come home to. What a wonderful meal to come home to.

We have a few pictures of the progress of the house. We have one gable to go then the roof! After that we will pour the concrete floor. Tomorrow is Sunday, a much needed day of rest. Everything will continue on Monday.
The father of the house is becoming more and more receptive to the men and their testimonies!

He's got the whole world in His Hands!

Today we talked about Creation! The kids loved it. We also sang He's got the whole world in His hands and taught the children the motions. They did a wonderful job!
What a blessing these wonderful people are to all of us. They have taught us what it really means to be in community.

The house is coming along great, we now have all the doors and windows in the house and completed four more courses of block.

Thanks for all of your prayers.

The Start of Something Beautiful

Laying our hands on the first block and praying over the the home, the father of the home is in the straw hat.
Boyce was ready to work!

Jasmine is such a blessing for us and the kids. They loved the bubbles.

Louis is really excited about his new house he loved to get in there and work. He was better at filling in the gaps then I was!

Marby, is what we call him! He is one of the kids we are building the house for. So sweet!

One of the beautiful girls that we are building the house for. She has such a look of love and you can tell she justs wants us to love on her. This is when I wish I knew how to speak more spanish. ~Candace

This is the only good one showing the boat = ( What beautiful smiles they had!
They came up two by two, and each made the sound that their animal made. We could not think of anything for the giraffe, so we made munching noises.

Katherine loved making Hippo noises! (So did the kids)

6/17/2010 First Day Thoughts

What a day, Hot, humid, and a Day with Boyce Abernathy, It has been a blessing seriously, the family is precious with many needs. Please pray that their father will come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible School was wonderful with many children. We could hear them in the distance singing "I just want to be a sheep" We just finished supper--my favorite "black beans and rice"

"It's good to be back in A-mur-i-ca"

TO GOD BE THE GLORY !!!!! We made it home, with a little layover in ATL about 5 hours. What a humbling and eye opening experience. All and all I must say "GOD BLESSED" and HE BLESSED US ALL! I cannot put into words all I experienced over the past 8 days, but I will never forget it. I can say if you have the opportunity to go "just go man, go"! What a wonderful day when I meet those in glory whose lives were changed because each of us said "I'LL GO" and with the LORDS BLESSING we went. Thanks to all the team for working hard and getting along, it made my first trip "mo-better".
